The Kyokushin Pakistan Union (KPU) was founded with one clear vision: to unite all Kyokushin Karatekas in Pakistan under one dignified roof. Kyokushin is not just a martial art it is a philosophy of life. Built on the foundation of strength, respect, and perseverance, it demands not only a strong body but also a strong mind and heart.

For decades, Pakistan has been home to many dojos and practitioners of Kyokushin. However, divisions weakened the collective strength of this art. The KPU is here to change that. Our platform recognizes every dojo, honors every master, and respects every international affiliation, while providing a single national identity for Kyokushin in Pakistan.

About Kyokushin

What is Kyokushin Karate?

Kyokushin (極真) means “Ultimate Truth.” Founded by the legendary martial artist Masutatsu Oyama (1923–1994), it is considered the most realistic and toughest style of karate. Unlike sport karate, Kyokushin focuses on full-contact fighting, mental strength, and personal growth.

Kyokushin emphasizes: Full-Contact Kumite (Fighting): Realistic, powerful, and fearless.

Discipline: Living with honor, respect, and humility.

Spirit: Building courage to face life’s challenges

Philosophy: Kyokushin is more than techniques and kicks. It is about character. It teaches us to remain humble in victory, strong in defeat, and respectful at all times. The dojo kun (training oath) guides practitioners to live with integrity, self-control, and compassion.

Global Reach: Today, Kyokushin has spread across more than 120 countries, with millions of practitioners worldwide. Its tournaments are some of the toughest in the martial arts world.

History of Kyokushin in Pakistan:

Kyokushin Karate was introduced in Pakistan several decades ago by dedicated martial artists who trained abroad and brought the art home. Many small dojos started in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and other cities. Over time, Pakistan produced fighters who competed in international tournaments, and masters who earned black belts recognized worldwide.But divisions between groups, organizations, and affiliations meant that Pakistan’s strength was scattered. Instead of moving forward together, Kyokushin practitioners were often separated by politics.

The Birth of KPU:

The Kyokushin Pakistan Union (KPU) was founded to solve this. Our mission is not to erase differences, but to unite under one banner of discipline and brotherhood. Every practitioner whether white belt or black belt, whether student or master has a place in KPU.

Training Oath

Every Kyokushin practitioner recites the dojo kun as a reminder of their values:
We will train our hearts and bodies for a firm, unshaking spirit.
We will pursue the true meaning of the martial way, so that in time, our senses may be alert.
With true vigor, we will seek to cultivate a spirit of self-denial.
We will observe the rules of courtesy, respect our superiors, and refrain from violence.
We will follow our religious principles, and never forget the true virtue of humility.
We will look upwards to wisdom and strength, not seeking other desires.
All our lives, through the discipline of karate, we will seek to fulfill the true meaning of the Kyokushin Way.
